Bethany Home provides thirty-eight independent living cottage units at affordable rates. The Cottages allow residents the opportunity to stay active and independent as long as possible.

Cottages Guidelines:

• Upon residency, applicants must be 62 years of age or older and capable of independent living.
  
• Rent is based on adjusted household income.
  
• Health Insurance premium expenses in excess of 3 percent of annual income may be deducted.
  
• Elderly households, where the tenant or co-tenant is at least 62 years old and handicapped or disabled may qualify for an adjustment to income when calculating the rent payment, or a special handicapped accessible unit or both.

The Cottages are income-based housing, Life-Lease units are not. A Life Lease is a housing arrangement where the resident purchases the Right to Occupy a housing unit and to use the common facilities.
