| Bethany
Home is foremost a Christ-centered home, guided by Christian
values and reflected in the Christian fellowship shared by
residents of all faiths. Since opening in 1911 with
eleven residents, Bethany Home has grown as an enriching and
rewarding residential community, offering comfort and security
to those in their retirement years. |
| |
| Bethany
Home is owned and operated as a not-for-profit residence as a
social ministry of the Central States Synod of the Evangelical Lutheran Church
of America. Leadership is provided by a 11-member Board
of Directors. Board members, who come from various
denominations, are elected by the Central States Synod and
serve without pay. |
| |
| Bethany
Home is not included in the budget of the Central States
Synod. It depends upon support via church budgets and
offerings, as well as individual gifts, wills and bequests. |
| |
| The
living environment and accommodations at Bethany Home are
attractive, clean, functional, pleasant and
"home-like". Words and pictures can not tell
the entire Bethany Home story. Come and visit and
witness the family atmosphere that is shared by the residents
and staff. |
| |
| Bethany
Home applicants are accepted without preference as to race or
religion. |
| |
| Our
staff members perform their responsibilities knowing it is a
privilege to serve the needs and concerns of others. |
| |
| The
unique resources of Lindsborg and Bethany College also make
Bethany Home an ideal choice for retirement years. |
| |
| A
wide variety of activities and services are offered through a
daily schedule of social, cultural and spiritual
programs. These include: worship and chapel, Bible
study, exercise classes, bingo, dominoes, checkers, chess,
pool, cards, songfests, bake days, story hour, bookmobile,
crafts, concerts, movies, sporting events, bus tours, quilting
bees, "surrey" rides and many other special events. |
| |
| Bethany
Home is not only a peaceful home, but a community of active
residents and staff enjoying life together. The existing
family atmosphere along with the organized and structured
programs provide stimulation that allows for social, cultural,
spiritual and intellectual growth. |
